Abortion The Rights of the Underdeveloped Foetus - 993 Words
1.0 Introduction According to general definition, abortion is clarified as any pre-developed termination of a human foetus. It is either naturally spontaneous, or artificially induced. Abortion has become one of the most typical surgical operations as about one in three Australia women will obtain an abortion. Approximately 80,000 Australia women will undergo the operation every year. The factors of women choosing abortion are babies would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities, they cannot afford a child and having problems with their spouses. This investigation aims to further study the ethical issues of abortion whether or not the rights of undeveloped foetus overweigh the rights of grown woman. 2.0 The rights of undeveloped foetus The undeveloped foetus has the absolute rights, as a patient and a citizen, apart from the pregnant woman. Characterized by the foetus rights as a patient and a citizen, the foetus is portrayed as an independent human being with demands, rights and concerns apart from and usually against the pregnant woman. The words ââ¬Å"embryoâ⬠, ââ¬Å"foetusâ⬠, ââ¬Å"babyâ⬠, ââ¬Å"childâ⬠and ââ¬Å"adultâ⬠are just different phrases for a human being at different level of life.Therefore, the foetus definitely has the rights to live as a potential human being. â⬠ª 2.1 Right to live The foetus is the outcome of the fusion of the human male gamete and human female gamete, something that certificates its humanness.
